Go watch the movie now, it will be a lot less awkward. Seriously, take your girl to go see this, you will get super laid for it.

Gerald Butler gave a lot into this performance but the film feels detached. If I had not known this was based on a true atrocity, I wouldn't have believed it. A Dangerous Method is philosophical, behaviorally bizarre, and slow. What more could you expect from a film about two famous psychiatrists bantering back and forth about sex and relationships.

My Week with Marilyn

There's something un-captivating here unlike Clint Eastwood's other films. DiCaprio puts on a great performance, which I think he deserves more nominations for, but I can't say the same for the entirety of the film. Not easy viewing for everyone as the subject matter is harsh. I have a new-found respect for Dominic Cooper who plays dual roles that are polar opposites from each other. I'm not sure if this is accurately based on a true story when I was looking stuff up online but regardless, as a stand-alone movie, it has my recommendation.

Downfall

This movie scores high reviews but not here. In terms of film making, it is good. Here's where I start to get uneasy. This is about the final days of Hitler, his inner circle, his Nazis, and it crosses the line of trying to create sympathy for them as the end closes in. I know this movie isn't a pro-Nazi, but how in the hell can I ever feel any sympathy for them, like the film was asking for. This made me uncomfortable.

You never see Hitler's corpse but you do see gore on other, lower-ranked soldiers. This tells me that they're trying to keep his character sacred by not defacing him. Fuck that, deface Hitler! Might I add, I had to deal with all this for 2:30 hours. In conclusion, the film is done well but the presentation is questionable.

Party Monster: The Shockumentary

This is the documentary of Micheal Alig. I wanted to watch the real story after watching Party Monster, the movie. There's really nothing special about it unless you're really into (or fascinated by) the queen-type, club culture, with a little murder twist. Parents, show your kids this movie when they're teens and they'll never do drugs.

Based on the true story of a single mother who puts herself through law school to represent her brother who has been wrongfully convicted of murder. Hopefully this movie will give Sam Rockwell the attention that he deserves because he is fantastic in it. All that acting stuff aside, this is a good film that will show you the power of family.

Kill the Irishman

This is based on a true story about a tough Irishman that came from nothing and became a mob boss. This film felt like two hours of a dick-swinging contest that borrowed from every other successful crime film. I saw a lot of Goodfellas in here. This didn't work as a serious and deep crime flick.

Tom Hardy does an absolutely amazing job playing Bronson and not just as a tough guy either. That scene where he performs as a clown is brilliant and it will show that Hardy has range.
