If you haven't heard by now how much fun this movie is or how it broke the $1 billion mark in its second week, it's all true and it delivers on the hype. Superhero movies have been great because directors and writers are able to instill drama into them that is believably human.

Joss Whedon does it on grand scale with multiple egos, and yet, every character is given ample screen time to voice their cause and resistance. Yearly 'top 10' films are usually reserved for hard-hitting dramas with highly emotional performances but I think The Avengers deserves a spot.

Jake Sully got into the tribe way too easily. All the Na'vi aliens knew that Jake was in an artificial body and yet they still taught him how to hunt and ride. They didn't even haze him or make him take shots – nothing!

Good job Na'vi guys! I'm not surprised your big-ass tree house got steam-rolled. We should have saved the manpower and traded shiny rocks with you instead.

Another small-room thriller like, Buried or Phone Booth. I'm on the fence about recommending this because the idea is good (for a horror) but the execution could have been better. Either way, I'm glad those kids got killed. That's what they get for making me palm my face so much.

One of my favorite lines in this movie is, "You make me want to be a better man," after Jack Nicholson expresses his complicated but devoted feelings towards Helen Hunt. I've used this line on a girl before and she instantly fell in love with me. Six months later, she put a restraining order on me.
