There are some incredibly, fascinating theories here, which is mind-blowing. However, there are some others that are just flat-out dumb, and probably made-up because of bias delusion – seeing what we want to see once we’re convinced that this is the message Kubrick is trying to tell us. It’s a great documentary but one that should be taken with a grain of salt.

Rust and Bone

The most random relationship of 2012’s romantic dramas. As far apart as these two are, the script makes them compatible, in some magical way. There were quite a few events outside of the relationship that seemed unnecessary, but it's a good film, just not one that I can strongly recommend.

Ruby’s existence might not be real but this is one of the most authentic movies I’ve seen in a while. The range of emotions that the script supplies is many and the performances drive them all home. Not only does Zoe Kazan (Ruby) deliver an absolutely sweet character but she also wrote this. Hat’s off!

All of the cringing moments come from the dialogue and there's a whole lotta talking. This is an aerial combat movie but the script will not shut up long enough to let us take in the intensity of warring skies. Red Tails was done with little authenticity to the time period and in some cases, downright disrespectful to history. Shoot this one down.

All while showing us that there’s only one thing worse than trying to raid a building full of drug addicts. Trying to raid a building full of drug addicts that all know karate.

Revenge of the Electric Car

There's not a lot of controversy in this sequel because it seems like there's not much left to uncover. Instead of hard-hitting journalism, the film acts as a cheerleader for this new tech. I'm happy that cars are going green but it did not need this sequel to tell us that.

A lot of fat was trimmed from this movie, which got everything right to the point. There is intense combat with plot twists and when all that gets too much, you'll get some funny banter to lighten things up. I can't say that I love this movie but I sure am happy as all hell that it exists.

The concept is very cool but things get so out of control that my attention veered towards the clock to see how much time I had left. There is a lot of gore and not for any good reason except to be gory. This could have been better if there was a bit more diplomacy rather than just pointless killing sprees. The only redeeming thing is the ending, but unfortunately, that comes...at the end.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Cesar (the main monkey) is definitely the star in this and it's one of those rare times where a story is told so well just by facial expressions and body language. You'll get attached to Cesar as he ventures through his life journey. I am definitely looking forward to the sequel.

I really loved all the visual details of the animals. It magnified their character's personality so well and it was fascinating to watch them interact with each other. I enjoyed the jokes and even at some parts, things get a little dark but it never lost its charm. However, this film has a very different vibe from all the other big animated movies that we're used to.
