Shot like an intense, two-hour, perfume commercial. Very heady, intellectually-rich, and ethereal. I had to look online for other meanings and they were all fascinating. This is exactly what you would expect from the guy that made Primer.

After I finally got around to seeing this, I have to say wow! I understand why it's so great now. First off, there's a death within the first 20 minutes and this film even shows blood! I have never seen blood in any of these cute Pixar pictures. So it sets off a slightly more mature environment from the get-go. As for the rest of it, it's one of the most touching films I have seen.

My biggest complaint is the lazy ending, either I missed something too subliminal or it was just that – lazy.This isn’t for everyone. It works best for the art enthusiasts with a sense of a humor or the art enthusiasts that dislikes the modern art scene.

It makes perfect sense to cast Heigl as the female after her recent flops and Butler as a guy who’s been losing his cinematic balls. This is a poor excuse for him to reclaim his machismo by telling us it’s okay to be a complete douchebag, that dupes desperate women.
